GP consortia management solutions Challenge
As communicated in the July 12th 2010 White Paper, The Government plan to dissolve Primary Care Trusts that manage 80% of the NHS budget and transfer financial responsibility to GP Consortia. The objective of the policy is to better treat more patients at lower costs through organisational restructuring supported by an Information Revolution. By leveraging the wealth of information available and communicating it with the right IT support, clinicians and patients will be able to make better decisions that will improve health outcomes.
GP Consortia face operational, financial and information challenges. These new entities for the most part have no track record in working together supported by the appropriate IT tools in the delivery of:
- Quality outcomes that are amongst the best in the world
- £20 billion savings and 45% management cost reduction by 2014.
